Features
LDOT opens the world in more ways than one.

Facial Regonition
Similarly to the contacts in your phone, the user can program faces of familiar people into LDOT. When LDOT recognizes that person, it will inform the user of their presence in the space.

For example, "Grandpa Joe is sitting at the table."

Object Awareness
From desks and chairs to cars and other pedestrians, LDOT can alert the user of what object is around them. Even cooler, LDOT can tell you how far away you are from each object. There are over 200,000 objects in LDOT's memory.

For example, "Door 15 feet away" or "Person approaching 5 feet on your left."

Text to Speech
LDOT can read text that is common in the everyday world. The app can read menu boards, restroom labels, and even what team is on a nearby jersey. The user simply points and listens as the app tells them what it says.
For example "Today's Special: Chicken Chesapeake."
How it Works
-
Hold your phone in a way that allows the camera to see the environment clearly. You can do this by holding your phone in front of your chest and facing forward. Alternatively, you can use a shirt pocket or phone lanyard.
-
Open the LDOT application on your smartphone.
-
Point your phone in the direction you are moving. The cameras on your phone have a view of about 120º.
-
The app will begin scanning your environment. You can choose from a variety of elements for the phone to recognize such as faces, objects, doors, and even text.
-
The phone will read to you what it identifies in your environment, making your traveling and navigating far easier and more accurate than other.
-
Feel free to adjust the settings and turn on or off any app features, depending on the space you choose to navigate.
